Craigeburn Loop
Directions:
50km east of Arthers Pass park 100 metres off the main road at the Craigeburn Recreational area sign.
Track Description:
Ride back on to the main road, turn left and ride up the road for 1km, turning left onto the Craigeburn Skifield Road. From here you have a 7km climb ahead of you to the ski field building. This usually takes around 1-1 1/2 hrs. Ride to the base of the rope tow, turning left and ride across and down the shingle incline. You are now at the beginning of the descent which a knarly grade 4 track which requires extreme care and caution in places. After a healthy descent at around 4km into your ride you reach a fork in the track, Turn right here. Now you begin a 15min climb to the top of the Lyndon Saddle.
Now at the top of the saddle turn right and come down a track called The Luge. The Luge is a Grade 3 single track that weaves its way down through the bush. You will reach a gravel road, turn left here and ride down the gravel road where you will meet a picnic area.
